NEW, New, York
Hey people,
Hope you had a good Christmas? Just a quick update on New, New York. "THE TOWERS ARE RISING". I've started to texture it but I need to talk to Alan to make sure I'm doing it the correct way. It's all modelled and hopefully you get an idea of what I was going for...please comment!

A plan for what to do next!
This is what needs to be ideally done after xmas.
EVERYTHING MODELLED!
Alex: Characters
Ryan: Car
Paul: Environments +(generic character)
(including Uv's and Rigs)
New, New York doesn't need to be Uv'd neither does the Detective's office. The look can be achieved via Maya shaders for a glassy, futuristic look.
Matte paintings for Old new York is not needed as once Paul has modelled New New York we can take a render of it and stick it in the background for the matte painting.
When we come back hopefully everything will near enough finished to at least start animating. Whilst me and Paul are doing that's when Ryan textures the characters and Old New, York, and Broadway.
When one scene is animated we stick the textures on top adjust lighting and render. Ryan when you finish the car that's when you can start texturing.

Hope these make sense Paul. Made 2 versions of a front view with and without seating to make it hopefully easier to interpret from.

Progress with Character modelling
I feel quite guilty that it is taking me long to model the characters, but I am getting there.
The hat is going to change, as it is looking like a Pimp hat, and he will be showing his eyes in the trailer.
This is a start on the Victim. I've changed her hairstyle slightly because the original fringe didn't suit. Also her breast are still quite big I think, even though I've shrunk them down alot from Ryan's drawings.
I think they look good together, like they are from the same world.

Old Broadway Progress further progress
Hey Alex / Ryan,
Just to keep you updated. I've pretty much modelled everything, see test render below. I still need to do model little bits like street lamps, lettering and maybe a couple of bins etc.

I've started to UV map the buildings. This is time consuming but I am making my way through them slowly but surely. Here's the first two buildings on the left.

Old Broadway Progress
Hey guys,
Made some further progress on "Old Broadway". I've done a test render using mental ray and it's default "sky sun" settings just so you can see it in more detail. Obviously this depicts it in day light and doesn't represent the overall feel of the scene. I have to model more buildings and then UV map everything but hopefully you can see the direction it's going...

Our Timetable
WE are not behind but we have a hella lot to do!
SO I've devised a Timetable of things to complete by a certain date, to keep ourselves on the ball. I've tried to be as realistic as possible but if everyone has any queries about it COMMENT NOW.

Development on Detective
So with me constantly complaining about the Detective, Stressing Ryan to the point of insanity I think we've got him!
This is our guy.
Ryan did him again, but Me and others pointed out his nose was to short and the hat was way to croaked
So I suggested more of a 1930's gangster look. Andriana also thought a moustachewould do him well.
I thought that he should resemble Gaff from Blade Runner, because he is just the coolest looking guy.(All designs done by Ryan El)
